8.4.1. Replacement of an external tip of steering draft

It be required to you: keys «on 13», «on 22» (two), a key for bolts of wheels, a stripper of spherical hinges.

Notes Work is more convenient for carrying out on the lift. It is possible to execute it and on the car established on support. Replacement of a tip is shown on an example of the left lateral draft, the right tip replace similarly. Carving of the left tip right, and right — left.

1. Lift and establish on a support a forward part of the car from a replaced tip. Remove a wheel.

Prevention Brake the car the parking brake and establish under back wheels a protivootkatny emphasis ("boots").

Good advice If fixing details are strongly polluted, clear them a metal brush and process legkopronikayushchy greasing, for example WD-40.

2. Measure and remember length of a free part of a carving of steering draft (the size and) that at assembly whenever possible not to break corners of a convergence of wheels.

Note It is for descriptive reasons shown on the removed steering draft.

3. Unscrew a nut of fastening of a spherical finger of a tip to the lever of a rotary fist.

Note Nuts of fastening of spherical fingers of external tips of steering drafts самоконтрящиеся. At each removal replace nuts new.

4. Establish a stripper of spherical hinges...	5.... and выпрессуйте a finger from a lug of the rotary lever.

Good advice In the absence of a stripper the finger of the spherical hinge can be beaten out in sharp blows of a hammer on an end face of a lug of the rotary lever, striking blows along a lever axis.

6. Weaken an inhaling of a lock-nut of a tip of steering draft.

Note For descriptive reasons this and further operations are shown on the removed steering draft.

7. Shift from a place a tip of steering draft, keeping draft from a provorachivaniye the second key...	8.... also screw together a tip from steering draft, counting up quantity of turns that at installation of a new tip the convergence of wheels whenever possible did not change.

9. Establish a new tip as it should be, the return to removal, having screwed it on steering draft on such number of turns, how many it was counted up at removal, and tighten a lock-nut the moment of 98 N · m.

10. Repeatedly measure length of a free part of a carving of steering draft: it should be equal measured in item 2. If it not so, weaken a lock-nut and either screw, or screw together a tip depending on that, the length of a free part of a carving increased or decreased, tighten a lock-nut and repeat check.

11. Check and in case of need adjust corners of installation of wheels at service station.
