3.11.1. Electric equipment check

1. Check, whether the belt of a drive of the generator is torn off. If there was a break, replace a belt (see. «Replacement of a belt of a drive of the generator and the conditioner compressor») also adjust its tension (see. «Check of a tension of a belt of a drive of the generator and conditioner compressor»).

2. If the belt is whole, check and if necessary adjust its tension (see. «Check of a tension of a belt of a drive of the generator and conditioner compressor»).

3. If after a belt tension the alarm lamp all the same burns, check the wires connected to the plus plug of the storage battery...	4.... to a starter...

5.... and to the generator. Wires can be torn off, broken off in isolation or with the oxidized or unreliable contacts. Eliminate malfunction and start up the engine. If there was a charging current, it is possible to continue movement.	6. If a belt will pull normally, check, whether fused a safety lock (it is shown by an arrow) in the assembly block of safety locks and the relay established in podkapotny space. If the safety lock fused, replace it, start up the engine and check, whether the lamp of the category of the storage battery went out. If the lamp went out, it is possible to continue movement.

Prevention Do not establish the safety locks calculated on bigger rated current. It can lead to damage of electric equipment and even to a fire.

If after the accepted measures the lamp of the category continues to burn at the working engine, the possible cause of defect is covered in the generator. The reasons can be a little, eliminate them better in the conditions of car-care center or garage, and you need to hope that the energy stock in the storage battery will suffice, that them to reach.

Good advice To reduce current consumption at car movement with the faulty generator, whenever possible disconnect a radio tape recorder, superfluous devices of lighting, the heater fan, heating of back glass, etc.
