9.8.1. Replacement of blocks of brake mechanisms of forward wheels

Check a condition of brake shoes at each maintenance (see. «Check of degree of wear of brake shoes, disks and drums»).

It is necessary to replace brake shoes at wear of slips, fragile connection of slips with the basis, zamaslivaniya of working surfaces, existence of deep furrows or chips.

Preventions Replace brake shoes of forward brake mechanisms only with a set from 4 pieces (on two with each party). Before replacement of brake shoes check level of brake liquid in a tank of the main brake cylinder. If level is close to the top label, it is necessary to pump out a part of liquid: after replacement of worn-out blocks new level of liquid will rise.

It be required to you: a key «on 13», two strengthened screw-drivers or sliding пассатижи.

1. Remove the left forward wheel.

2. Turn out the bottom bolt of fastening of a support...	3.... also lift a support up.

4. Remove brake shoes from the directing.

Note Pay attention to marking of brake shoes. New blocks get with the same marking.

5. Examine fixing springs of blocks...	6.... strongly deformed or korrodirovanny springs replace.

7. Drown the piston of the working cylinder by means of sliding the passatizhy.

Good advice At each replacement of brake shoes without fail check a condition of protective rubber covers of directing fingers and nature of moving of a support rather directing brake shoes. If moving is complicated, grease with konsistentny greasing directing fingers of a support. For this purpose... ... take directing finger... ... grease it with konsistentny greasing and put greasing in an internal cavity of a cover. Establish a finger in directing blocks as it should be, the return to removal. Check a condition of a protective cover. If there were signs of aging of rubber, replace protective covers of directing fingers.

8. Establish brake shoes of the forward brake mechanism as it should be, the return to removal. For an exception of a samootvorachivaniye of a bolt of fastening of a support before installation grease its carving with an anaerobny clamp of a carving.

9. Press several times a brake pedal to bring brake shoes to a disk.

10. Establish a wheel.

11. Similarly replace brake shoes of the brake mechanism of the right wheel.

12. Check and if necessary restore level of brake liquid in a tank of the main brake cylinder.

Good advice Having replaced worn-out brake shoes new, do not hurry to leave at once to brisk highways. It is not excluded that at the first intensive braking you will be unpleasantly struck with low efficiency of brakes though blocks are established the firm. Brake disks too wear out, and new blocks concern them only edges, practically without braking. Choose a silent small street or journey without cars and several times smoothly brake, that blocks got used and began to adjoin all surface. At the same time estimate also efficiency of brakes. Try not to brake sharply at least the first 100 km. At strong heating of not earned extra blocks the top layer of their slips burns slightly and brakes will not be still for a long time the most effective.
