10.9.3. Check of the coil of ignition

You will need a tester.

1. Remove the ignition coil from the car (see. «Removal and installation of the coil of ignition»).

2. Measure resistance of secondary windings of the coil of ignition, having connected tester conclusions to the first and the fourth, and then to the second and third high-voltage conclusions. Resistance of secondary windings at 21–27 °C should make about 11,5-13,5 kiloohms.

3. If resistance at least one secondary winding strongly differs from the specified value, replace the ignition coil.

4. Measure resistance of primary windings of the coil of ignition, having connected tester conclusions to the first and the second, and then to the second and third conclusions. Resistance of secondary windings at 21–27 °C should make about 0,51-0,61 Ohm.

5. If resistance at least one primary winding strongly differs from the specified value, replace the ignition coil.
