10.4.7. Charging of the storage battery
The battery charge a current 6 And at the turned-out jams. A charging carry out prior to the beginning of plentiful gas evolution and achievement of constancy of tension and electrolit density during 3 h. The density of electrolit of the charged battery at 25 °C should correspond to these tab. 10.7 for each climatic area.
At a battery charging periodically check temperature of electrolit and do not allow its increase over +40 °C. When the temperature will reach +40 °C, it is necessary to reduce half a charging current or to interrupt a charging and to cool the battery to +27 °C.
Charging stop, when plentiful liberation of gas in all elements of the battery begins, and tension and electrolit density during the last three measurements (carry out in 1 h after battery shutdown) will remain constants.
If at the end of a charging the electrolit density (defined taking into account the temperature amendment) differs from specified in tab. 10.7, modify it. At the increased density select a part of electrolit and add the distilled water. If the density of electrolit is lower than norm, select it from an element and add electrolit of the increased density (1,4 g/cm3).
After adjustment of density of electrolit continue a battery charging during 30 mines for electrolit hashing. Then disconnect the battery and through 30 mines measure electrolit level in all elements. If level of electrolit appears lower than norm, add the electrolit which density corresponds to this climatic area (see tab. 10.7). If level of electrolit is higher than norm, select excessive electrolit a rubber pear.
