4.3.7. Replacement of cooling liquid

According to the manufacturer recommendation it is necessary to replace cooling liquid through 40 thousand km of run or 4 years of operation (that will come earlier).

It be required to you: cooling liquid, a pure rag, capacity for merged cooling liquid capacity not less than 10 l, a screw-driver with a flat edge.

Preventions Apply cooling liquids on a basis этиленгликоля (antifreeze). Replace cooling liquid only on the cold engine. Cooling liquid is toxic, therefore be careful at work with it. At engine start-up the stopper of a broad tank should be closed. Wrap a tank stopper densely. The cooling system at the working engine is under pressure therefore at poorly wrapped up stopper from under it cooling liquid can begin to flow.

1. Establish the car on an equal horizontal platform.

2. Unscrew a stopper of a broad tank.

3. Substitute capacity under taking-away branch pipe of a radiator.

4. Pincers compress short moustaches of a collar of fastening of a hose to taking-away branch pipe of a radiator...	5.... shift a collar on a hose and, having removed from a branch pipe a hose, merge cooling liquid.

6. Attach taking-away hose to a radiator branch pipe.

Note If the broad tank is strongly polluted, remove (see. «Removal and installation of a broad tank») also wash out it.

7. Wash out cooling system for what wrap a drain stopper and fill system with water through a broad tank.

8. Start up the engine and let's to it work till turning on of the electrofan.

9. Muffle the engine and merge water.

10. Wash out cooling system, pure water yet will not start to merge.

11. Fill system of cooling of the engine, filling in cooling liquid in a broad tank.

12. Start up the engine and warm up it to working temperature (before turning on of the electrofan). After that stop the engine, check level of cooling liquid and if necessary add it in a broad tank to «MAX» label.

Note At operation of the engine watch temperature of cooling liquid according to the index. If the arrow reached a red zone, and the fan of a radiator did not turn on, include a heater and check, what air passes through it. If the heater submits warmed-up air the fan and if submits cold air, most likely, is faulty, means, in system of cooling of the engine the air stopper was formed. For its removal muffle the engine, let's to it cool down and unscrew a stopper of a broad tank. Start up the engine, let's to it work during 3–5 mines and wrap a tank stopper.

Good advice For the best filling of system without air jams periodically прожимайте radiator hoses a hand. In some days of operation of the car after replacement of cooling liquid check its level. If necessary fill level. If through very short time color of fresh liquid became brown, means, you filled in a fake in which the producer "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors. Besides, one of signs of a fake is sharp complete decolouration of liquid. Dye of qualitative cooling liquid is very resistant and over time only darkens. The liquid tinted by linen blue becomes colourless. It is necessary to replace such "antifreeze" quicker.
