5.14.7. Replacement of a fuel tank

The fuel tank is made of plastic and to repair is not subject, therefore at detection of a leak of fuel from a tank replace a tank.

If the grid of the fuel pump often gets littered, remove and wash out a tank.

It be required to you: a key «on 10», a screw-driver with a flat edge or бокорезы.

1. Establish the car on the lift or a viewing ditch.

2. Reduce pressure in a power supply system (see. «Pressure decrease in a power supply system»).

3. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

4. Disconnect a block of a plait of wires and топливопроводы from the module of the fuel pump (see. «Replacement of the module of the fuel pump»).

5. Deduce from a flute of a sealant of a bulk mouth of a fuel tank a lock ring...	6.... also remove a ring.

7. Turn out a stopper of a fuel tank.	8. Deduce an external part of a sealant from a wing opening...

9.... also remove a sealant.

10. Remove the right back wheel (see. «Wheel replacement»).

11. Having established under a fuel tank a support, turn out five bolts of fastening of collars of a fuel tank (the exhaust silencer is for descriptive reasons removed)...	12.... also unscrew two nuts of fastening of a bulk mouth of a fuel tank to a body.

13. Lower a fuel tank on 15–20 cm for receiving access to a steam line laid over a tank.

14. Unclench a screw-driver or have a bite бокорезами a collar of fastening of a parootvodyashchy hose of a fuel tank to a steam line...	15.... also disconnect a parootvodyashchy hose from a steam line.

16. Remove collars of fastening of a fuel tank...

17.... and accurately lower a fuel tank down.

Good advice Remove a fuel tank with the assistant as the filled tank quite heavy and has a form inconvenient for keeping.

18. Examine a fuel tank. On a tank should not be потеков the fuels, appeared as a result of mechanical damages, cracks, attritions from fixing collars. The damaged tank replace. Check also an integrity of parootvodyashchy hoses (are shown by shooters), tightness and reliability of their fastening to unions of a fuel tank.	19. Check a condition of fixing collars of a fuel tank: on them there should not be cracks and excesses.

20. Check an integrity of a fixing level of collars of fastening of a fuel tank.

21. Establish a fuel tank as it should be, the return to removal.

22. Fill in in a tank fuel, start up the engine and check tightness of connections топливопроводов and steam lines.
